Riya Sahni

Hi! I am a first year Computer Science Ph.D. candidate at Columbia University, advised by Dr. Lydia Chilton in the Computational Design Lab.

I am a proud member of 🦁 Columbia HCI , and I am grateful to be supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Prior to joining Columbia, I worked at Microsoft for 1 year as a Customer Success Account Manager in the Financial Services Industry, out of the Times Square office in New York City.

I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2023 with a B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Economics, during which I was advised by Dr. Marshini Chetty and Dr. Sarah Sebo.

Research

I am a human-computer and human-AI researcher interested in building AI tools that augment productive learning behaviors and understanding how to improve large-scale AI adoption.
